Matt Bamsey
University of Guelph's Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility
Matt is currently pursuing a Ph.D. with the University of Guelph, focusing on advanced life support, while stationed at the Canadian Space Agency and the Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility. At the Canadian Space Agency, Matt has worked with the RADARSAT-2 program and with the Space Science department on the Arthur Clarke Mars Greenhouse project on Devon Island in the Canadian High Arctic. Matt will discuss:

- How to get involved with CESRF or advanced life support research in Canada
Jose Costa
Ontario Centres of Excellence
Jose is a Business Development Manager for the Ontario Centres of Excellence in the Centre for Materials and Manufacturing. His previous position was Chair, for the Mechanical and Automation Engineering Technology at Centennial College. He also worked over nine years for The Industrial Research Assistance Program of the National Research Council (NRC-IRAP) assisting Small and Medium Sized (SME) Canadian enterprises to become more technologically competitive. Jose will discuss:
- OCE programs and how they support innovations
- Business opportunities
- Developments in innovation in advanced manufacturing, aerospace and life sciences
Dusanka Filipovic
President and CEO of Blue-Zone
Dusanka Filipovic, a Professional Engineer, is Founder, President and CEO of Blue-Zone Technologies Ltd. She launched Blue-Zone in 1999, following her 20+ successful years at Union Carbide and Praxair Canada. She is a co-inventor of the globally innovative DeltaTM technology for preventing routine venting of halogenated anesthetics from hospital operating rooms. Dusanka's invention improves urban air quality and helps hospitals offset their carbon footprint while also enabling potential long term cost benefits. Dusanka will discuss:
- Blue Zone - what the company does and how
- How the business concept and model were developed
- Issues and challenges in developing a business that impacts life sciences, manufacturing and the environment
