Bio-Repository Services
Core Cryolab Inc. Cryolab Inc. is Canada’s first purpose built state-of-the-art processing and cryogenic bio-repository conveniently located beside the MaRS buildings, built underground at Toronto General Hospital.Our facility operates the highest quality equipment available on the market today. On-site bulk storage of liquid nitrogen coupled with vacuum jacketed piping and Chart-MVE Eterne storage freezers with -190C vapour storage ensures the best possible retention of sample viability. Real-time temperature tracking by both digital and personal routes, local and remote alarm monitoring, video surveillance and pass-card entry (with restricted access) provides a reassuring level of security.
Training and Consulting Services
We offer a comprehensive consulting service in all areas of cryogenic activity. As an example, a current practice audit would offer suggestions in the areas of gas supply systems, costs, viability studies, cryopreservation method development, protocol optimization and regulatory compliance issues.
In addition, comprehensive training classes are available either on our site or yours. These provide insight into the background and bio-physics of cell cryopreservation, operating principles of cryogenic equipment, choosing the right equipment for your application, good cryogenic practices, shipping samples, maximizing cell post thaw viability, cryogenic system design, true cost analysis etc.
If you wish to create your own on-site bio-repository, we will work with scientists and architects to ensure the costly mistakes, which so often accompany such projects, are avoided.
Our web server application, ReposiTrack Inventory Management System, is a significant advantage at our bio-repository. As a web application, it allows our users to operate their storage in our environment with simplicity and security. All transactions (every key stroke) are archived and all environmental conditions for all samples are logged indefinitely. A totally user definable data base and relational search engine ensure simple sample search and retrieval.
- ReposiTrack is available as an owned application installed, operated and maintained at the client’s site
- ReposiTrack Guardian is an option allowing users to manage their freezer inventory at their own site accessing the program through any internet accessible PC and a seat on Core Cryolab’s secure system.
