James Larsen

James Larsen is the Director of Business Development for the Advanced Energy Centre at MaRS.
Prior to joining the Advanced Energy Centre, James was a management consultant with Bain & Company, developing targeted strategic solutions for executive teams of market-leading companies. James also has many years of experience in the successful execution of large-scale engineering projects and has been involved in almost all aspects of project execution, including technical design, procurement, commissioning and project finance.
James has also dedicated significant personal time towards his passion for sustainability by pursuing endeavours such as founding the Richard Ivey School of Business’ annual Sustainability Conference, as well as volunteering as an advisor with MaRS Cleantech’s Venture Services group, providing business advisory to young cleantech companies to help them grow into successful sector leaders. 
James holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. James is also a registered Professional Engineer in the province of British Columbia.
