Photoblog: MaRS Phase 2 construction

It’s one thing to read about the scale of our 20-storey, 750,000 sq. ft. expansion, it’s another to see it for yourself. Here are the photographs of the build site as taken on August 11 and 12, 2011.

We encourage you to view the high-resolution parent images on Flickr, as these poor children had to be shrunk to fit our blog format and a great number of photographic cousins didn’t make the cut. (Clicking an image will also open a larger version on Flickr.)

MaRS Phase 2
2,300 researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and professionals representing 80+ tenants come to work at MaRS every day. Phase 2 will more than double that number.

Ever wonder how these mammoth cranes are put up and taken down? Ask these guys.
MaRS Phase 2
Note the air conditioner in the cab. Where's the bathroom?
It is me or does the guy on the street appear as though he's stepping out into space?
