On February 26, London Hydro and Festival Hydro announced the signature of a collaboration agreement to support the implementation of Green Button Connect My Data in Festival Hydro’s service territory. This unprecedented agreement will give birth to the first Green Button Connect My Data implementation in Ontario happening outside of the two pilots currently underway with London Hydro and Hydro One. Soon, Festival Hydro customers will be able to take advantage of London Hydro’s Green Button Connect My Data applications and access their electricity data in a user-friendly way.

As part of the Green Button pilots, London Hydro currently offers two Green Button Connect My Data solutions to residential customers (GOODcoins) and small and large businesses (BuiltSpace). More solutions will be added in the weeks to come.

Green Button gives customers secure access to their electricity consumption data, and interactive tools to better understand electricity usage and identify opportunities to save energy within a household or a business. Some of the tools available allow customers to set up alerts and learn useful tips to conserve energy. This is a great step forward for Ontario; all the work done by London Hydro as part of the pilot can now be directly leveraged by Festival Hydro, resulting in a faster and more cost-effective rollout of Green Button Connect My Data.

Congratulations to both London Hydro and Festival on demonstrating such leadership and advancing Green Button implementation in the province.

“It is with great pride that we announce the collaboration between London Hydro and Festival Hydro, to jointly offer Customer Engagement Solutions and the Green Button Connect My Data platform to our valued customers. This collaboration jointly empowers residential and commercial customer across our utilities by providing choice and tool-sets that foster smarter energy usage.”
