EXCITE welcomes Shirlee Sharkey to the MaRS EXCITE Management Board
EXCITE welcomes Ms. Shirlee Sharkey to the Management Board. Shirlee is the current president and CEO of Saint Elizabeth Health Care, an internationally-renowned leader in home and community care, with a formidable track record of health innovation. In addition to being the chair of the Ontario Health Technology Advisory Committee, Shirlee holds key leadership roles in the Canadian health innovation ecosystem including being a member of theOntario Health Innovation Council, and a member of the Advisory Council of the International Centre for Health Innovation at the Ivey School of Business. Shirlee is cross-appointed to the University of Toronto’s Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation as an adjunct professor. In 2012, Shirlee received the Diamond Jubilee Medal of Queen Elizabeth II, and accepted the Order of Excellence from Excellence Canada in organizational innovation, quality and wellness. She was honoured with the Innovation Award for Healthcare Leadership from the Canadian College of Health Leaders in 2010.
