For the past two years, the MaRS Solutions Lab (MSL) has been partnering with the University of Waterloo Institute of Social Innovation and Resilience (WISIR) in designing and implementing two social innovation labs: the Ontario Tender Fruit Lab (the Final Report will be published end-of-June) and the New Solutions for Youth Employment Lab in New York City. Throughout our work together, we have been testing out WISIR’s social innovation lab model and have collected many real-life learnings and reflections on the model. The Social Innovation Lab Guide is the first of its kind, with step-by-step descriptions of how to develop, test and instigate innovation strategies.

You can download the guide on WISIR’s website.

We are honoured to have had the opportunity to work with Frances Westley’s team to design and implement both of the aforementioned social innovation labs, and also to contribute to the Social Innovation Lab Guide.
